Finding a name…

Let’s face it, across the web all the catchy and witty names people can think of are gone. The registration of domain names has proliferated along with the applications filed with arbitrator WIPO for grievances or trademark violations. What is interesting is when someone has a genuine opportunity to take control and go for it. Aaron Millerand is an individual who has done just that. Alas my real name is far too common.

However this post is not about Aaron, or Tom Cruise, Kate Hudson or even IKEA in China. It is about the frustration, the gnashing of teeth and the ‘you’re kidding me’ that goes on in the discovery of something beautiful been taken from you.

I had a great catchy and relevant title for the blog “DE and me” that upon trying to register it to find that someone else has beaten you to it, and SQUANDERED the opportunity.

AARRGHHHH !!!

It was perfect, simple and really captured the essence of the blogs’ topic.

This is what I found…

October 5, 2004  : i am so confused??????????

and that’s it…nothing else and the worst thing, the blog is titled : “life on the ropes” why did you register it as “deandme”??? Why, why, why?

So after the wailing and gnashing of teeth, this blog is “maternal and external”. So what you ask does this have to do with distance education? Well, I am an external student and I am also a parent…so it was the best I could come up with without resorting to numbers.
